Scrum Master

Role Overview

Seeking a Scrum Master for a USA (Remote) contract engagement to lead the Data Center to Cloud migration strategy. You will facilitate Agile delivery across cloud transformation workstreams spanning Rehost, Re-platform, Rewrite/Refactor, and Purchase.

Responsibilities

Scrum Leadership & Facilitation

• Facilitate Scrum ceremonies: Daily Stand-ups, Sprint Planning, Sprint Reviews, and Retrospectives
• Remove impediments/blockers across multiple migration workstreams
• Coach teams on Agile/Scrum practices tailored to cloud transformation
• Promote continuous improvement and cross-functional collaboration

Cloud Migration Strategy Management

• Rehost (Lift & Shift): coordinate migrations with minimal infrastructure change
• Re-platform: manage sprints optimizing applications with minor modifications
• Rewrite/Refactor: support teams rebuilding using cloud-native architectures
• Purchase: coordinate evaluation, procurement, and rollout of SaaS/commercial solutions replacing legacy systems

Project Coordination & Delivery

• Maintain and prioritize product backlogs for multiple migration streams
• Track and report sprint velocity, burndown charts, and migration progress metrics
• Coordinate dependencies across interconnected teams
• Ensure alignment with the overall cloud migration roadmap and timelines
• Manage transformation-specific risks and issues

Stakeholder Management

• Communicate progress, risks, and blockers to leadership and stakeholders
• Facilitate decision-making sessions for migration strategy selection (use of 6Rs framework)
• Coordinate with Infrastructure, Security, Compliance, and Application teams
• Bridge communication between technical teams and business stakeholders

Required Qualifications

• CSM or PSM certification required
• 6+ years as a Scrum Master in technology environments
• 3+ years delivering cloud migration/transformation projects
• Proven experience managing multiple Agile teams simultaneously
• Experience with DC to Cloud migration approaches: Rehost, Re-platform, Rewrite, Purchase
• Hands-on cloud platform knowledge: AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud
• Familiarity with:
  • Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, CloudFormation, ARM templates)
  • Containerization/orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes)
  • CI/CD and DevOps practices
  • Cloud migration tools (AWS Migration Hub, Azure Migrate, CloudEndure)
• Strong skills in Scrum/Agile, communication, analytical problem-solving, servant leadership, adaptability, and collaboration
• Tools: Jira, Confluence, Azure DevOps (or similar)

Preferred Qualifications

• Additional Scrum certification (CSM)
• Experience with hybrid cloud environments
• Experience in regulated industries (healthcare, finance, government)
• PMP or other project management certifications
