About the role

Role Overview

Peraton is hiring a Scrum Master for the Washington DC Metro area. The role is remote, with occasional travel to the Quantico client site as needed. You’ll lead Scrum team execution and coordinate across product, engineering, and multiple vendors to deliver and sustain software capabilities.

What You’ll Do

Lead analysis within the Scrum Team to build and prioritize features and user stories, and identify team velocity
Partner with Product Owners on Sprint Reviews and Backlog Refinement; lead daily Scrum stand-ups
Coordinate cross-functional and cross-vendor efforts to enable timely releases and provide business support for software development/sustainment across the SDLC
Address systems integration issues (compatibility, multiple platforms) and coordinate requirements with end users
Conduct feasibility analysis for potential future projects
Support evaluation and recommendations of application software packages and tools for integration and testing
Assist with user manuals and technical reports
Support Chief Enterprise Architect, Release Train Engineer (RTE), and senior leadership; coordinate across intra-team/external-team and program structures
Assist Government Product Owners with Product Backlog duties and independently provide technical guidance on business implications
Act as a liaison between client and technical support groups; elicit, document, analyze, validate business processes and solution requirements
Support requirements and change management using structured documentation/analysis techniques
Create and maintain user stories, manage backlog priorities, and brief stakeholders during Quarterly Program Increment Planning
Use Jira/Confluence and submit weekly/monthly status reports

Requirements

Leadership and collaboration skills to foster effective working relationships
Familiarity with ticketing systems (e.g., ServiceNow)
Strong knowledge of tools such as Jira/Confluence, and GitLab/Artifactory
Active Secret clearance
Education/experience:
- 8 years with BS/BA, or
- 6 years with MS/MA, or
- 3 years with PhD, or
- 12 years of experience in lieu of a degree
Understanding of Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) process and related methodologies, including Kanban and Waterfall

Nice-to-Haves / Contextual Skills

Ability to support Agile + DevOps/Continuous Deployment practices in day-to-day execution
Experience working within program-level ceremonies and scaled agile environments
