About the role
Role Overview
Peraton is seeking a Scrum Master to support cross-functional development teams focused on cloud-native application modernization and migration. The role is 100% remote and involves facilitating Agile delivery, removing impediments, and aligning execution with program objectives.
Responsibilities
- Serve as Scrum Master for one or more cross-functional development teams
- Facilitate Agile ceremonies: sprint planning, backlog refinement, daily stand-ups, sprint reviews, and retrospectives
- Partner with Product Owners, Architects, Developers, and Security teams to ensure backlog prioritization and alignment to program goals
- Identify, track, and remove impediments to keep teams productive
- Coach teams in Agile best practices, continuous improvement, DevSecOps, and cloud delivery principles
- Support migration from legacy to modern architectures using Azure PaaS, containerization, microservices, and event-driven design
- Use metrics such as velocity, burndown, cycle time, and predictability to improve team performance
- Facilitate collaboration across engineering, security, infrastructure, and cloud migration teams
- Support program-level Agile ceremonies, release planning, and dependency management
- Communicate risks, progress, and status to leadership and stakeholders
- Promote a culture of transparency, accountability, and innovation
Requirements
- U.S. citizenship and ability to obtain Public Trust
- Scrum Master experience supporting software development or cloud engineering teams
- Strong understanding of Agile frameworks: Scrum and Kanban
- Experience with scaling approaches such as SAFe, LeSS, or similar
- Experience in a DoD, federal, or highly regulated environment
- Servant-leader mindset; ability to coach and influence teams at all maturity levels
- Strong skills in communication, facilitation, and stakeholder management
- Scrum Master certification: CSM, PSM I/II, or equivalent
- Education/experience requirement based on the posting:
- 8+ years with BS/BA (or)
- 6+ years with MS/MA (or)
- 3+ years with PhD (or equivalent education paths stated)
Preferred Qualifications
- Understanding of SDLC
Salary & Benefits
- Target salary range: $86,000 - $138,000 (annual)
- Benefits may include medical, dental, vision, life, HSA, disability, EAP, parental leave, 401(k), PTO, and company-paid holidays.
