Scrum Master

Role: Scrum Master (Remote, Long-Term Contract)

JSR Tech Consulting is seeking an experienced Scrum Master for a long-term remote contract. The role supports a fast-paced Marketing Technology Group, partnering with Product Owners, Tech Leads, and Architecture teams to deliver complex cross-functional projects.

Responsibilities

• Guide teams and stakeholders in adopting Agile/Scrum practices and values to deliver customer value
• Coach teams to maximize benefits of self-organization and autonomy
• Identify and address gaps in Agile/Scrum execution; assess Scrum maturity and coach improvements at sustainable pace
• Remove impediments and help resolve blockers with the right stakeholders
• Create a trusting, safe environment that supports open problem-solving (no blame/judgment)
• Facilitate discussions, decision-making, and conflict resolution; promote collaboration over directive management
• Improve communication, transparency, and information sharing across internal/external partners
• Coach Product Owners on backlog grooming and maintenance
• Support servant leadership and lead by example
• Drive delivery activities to meet project schedules and timelines
• Provide regular status reporting to leadership, proactively identifying risks to budget and timeline

Required Qualifications

• 10+ years professional experience, including 5+ years as a Scrum Master
• Proven experience managing mission-critical applications in Agile environments
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to collaborate effectively with engineers, cross-functional teams, and business partners
• Deep understanding of servant leadership, facilitation, conflict resolution, continuous improvement, empowerment, and transparency
• Knowledge of Scrum patterns/techniques such as Burndown charts, retrospective formats, and defect management
• Expert-level proficiency in Jira
• Familiarity with other Agile frameworks (e.g., XP, Kanban, Crystal, FDD, JIRA Align)
• Experience with Agile engineering practices (e.g., User Stories, ATDD, TDD, CI, Continuous Testing, Pair Programming, Automated Testing, Agile Games)
• Working knowledge of the technologies used by development teams
• 3+ years managing projects in Marketing Technologies using Content Management Systems (CMS) and Marketing Automation Platforms

Preferred Qualifications

• Scrum Master certification (CSM, PSM, or equivalent)
• Experience applying SAFe / scaled Agile methodology
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field
