About the role
Role Overview
You will serve as a Scrum Master for multiple technical teams, guiding adoption of Agile/Scrum practices and improving delivery performance. The role emphasizes facilitating Scrum ceremonies, coaching teams, removing impediments, and collaborating with product and engineering stakeholders—within a remote-friendly, Eastern Time zone–friendly environment.
Responsibilities
- Facilitate and guide multiple Scrum teams in:
- Daily stand-ups, sprint planning, reviews, retrospectives
- Backlog refinement and daily Scrum activities
- Coach teams on Agile values, practices, and principles to improve effectiveness and maturity
- Support technical teams in:
- Breaking down user stories
- Defining requirements and ensuring clarity for execution
- Establish working agreements, manage schedules, and resolve roadblocks to achieve sprint goals
- Track and remove impediments to improve productivity and delivery quality
- Use Agile metrics/dashboards to monitor progress, identify improvements, and report status to stakeholders
- Coordinate cross-functional dependencies and communicate development/release status to management
- Mentor/support other Scrum Masters across the organization
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, IT, or related field, or equivalent experience
- Minimum 5 years as a Scrum Master in a software/technical environment
- Certified Scrum Master (CSM) or Certified Scrum Professional Scrum Master (CSP-SM)
- Strong understanding of Agile methodologies, Scrum theory, and practical frameworks
- Proficiency with Agile techniques including user stories, continuous integration, automated testing, and backlog management
- Advanced experience with Jira or similar project management tools
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills for technical and non-technical stakeholders
- Strong leadership, decision-making, and problem-solving skills
- Experience coaching teams and facilitating change, including in remote environments
Preferred
- Familiarity with SDLC practices and complex application support
