Scrum Master

Role Overview

Scrum Master (Agile Coach) for a financial services client in small business lending. You will be embedded within stream-aligned Scrum teams delivering outcomes tied to organizational OKRs, ensuring compliance and risk review steps are built into sprint workflows.

Duration & Work Model

• 6-month contract-to-hire
• Remote (must work Eastern Standard Time hours)
• Virtual interviews (1–2 rounds)

Responsibilities

• Facilitate all Scrum ceremonies (e.g., stand-ups, sprint planning, retrospectives, etc.)
• Embed compliance and risk review steps into sprint cycles and workflows
• Identify and remove impediments to maintain and improve team velocity
• Protect team focus and shield the team from outside disruptions
• Partner closely with Product Owners and engineering teams
• Coach teams on agile best practices and a continuous improvement mindset
• Run meaningful retrospectives that drive tangible process improvements
• Influence stakeholders and coach teams toward measurable behavioral improvements

Requirements (Must-Haves)

• Active CSM certification (SAFe Scrum Master or A-CSM preferred)
• 5+ years experience as a practicing Scrum Master
• 3+ years experience in financial services (banking, lending, fintech, or payments)
• Experience working in regulated environments with compliance integrated into delivery
• Strong proficiency with Jira and Confluence
• Proven ability to facilitate agile ceremonies and drive continuous improvement

• Experience in small business lending domain
• Background working in SAFe environments
• Demonstrated success coaching teams toward measurable behavioral improvements
• Strong understanding of the Scrum Master vs Product Owner role distinction
• Experience handling compliance or risk reviews within sprint cycles
