About the role

Role Overview

Inadev is seeking a Scrum Master to lead one or more scrum teams delivering products and information systems in data and technology environments.

Responsibilities

Act as Scrum Master and run one or more Scrum teams spanning roles such as Business Analysts, Data Engineers/Scientists, Systems Architects, Developers, Automation Testers, DevOps Engineers, and Data Analysts.
Create integrated roadmaps and project schedules for upcoming priorities.
Support the systems development lifecycle: analysis, requirements, design, development, testing, and implementation.
Improve and follow procedures/best practices; synthesize information to determine what is relevant.
Assist with requirements and prioritization, including elicitation, analysis, design, testing, and implementation in a data environment.
Evaluate workflow/organization/technology problems and drive corrective actions.
Serve as a Subject-Matter Expert (SME) on:
- business requirements
- Scrum processes
- user needs and value
Be an authority on system behavior (e.g., determining bug vs. expected behavior).
Write and coach high-quality Scrum artifacts: epics, user stories, tasks, spikes, bugs, and acceptance criteria in Jira.
Help the Product Owner (PO) craft strong user stories; review/edit stories and acceptance criteria when needed.
Own the Definition of Done (with team assistance).
Coordinate with developers and test engineers to agree on acceptance criteria.
Ensure teams follow prioritization flow (PO sets priorities; BA owns accuracy of the backlog list).
Ensure deadlines are met, aligned with Office of Information Technology (OIT) requirements.
Act as a gatekeeper for quality by ensuring requirements are testable and edge cases are addressed.
Lead agile ceremonies and model strong practices to ensure stories meet acceptance criteria and the Definition of Done.

Requirements / Qualifications

Must be able to conduct all agile Scrum ceremonies.
Strong expertise in Jira-based backlog and story artifacts, including acceptance criteria and Definition of Done.

Location & Work Model

Fully remote for candidates outside the DC/MD/VA Metro area.
Hybrid for local candidates in Reston, VA.
