Scrum Master II

Role Overview

Scrum Master II at Avetta. Implement the Scrum Framework and Agile processes across multiple Scrum teams. Empower teams to deliver solutions by fostering continuous improvement and effective collaboration, while coordinating inter-team dependencies and program-level objectives.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with Product Managers, RTEs, and Product Owners to align and deliver strategic initiatives on time.
• Facilitate Agile ceremonies for multiple teams; lead PI Planning breakout sessions to coordinate dependencies, capacity, and risks.
• Mentor less experienced Scrum Masters and drive continuous improvement across teams.
• Coordinate and manage cross-team dependencies (including Scrum of Scrums alignment).
• Support Product Owners with:
  • Managing product roadmaps and team backlogs across multiple teams.
  • Coaching teams on backlog management, vertical slicing, and estimating.
• Resolve cross-team impediments and blockers affecting program progress.
• Use Agile metrics to track team performance and provide visibility into program health.
• Ensure smooth alignment across teams during PI Planning using tools and data-driven metrics.
• Promote Agile engineering best practices across teams: TDD, BDD, Pair Programming, CI/CD.
• Leverage AI-enabled Agile/productivity tools (e.g., backlog automation, sentiment analysis, predictive metrics) for forecasting and reporting.
• Provide hands-on Jira expertise: workflow customization, dashboards/reports, and integrations with Confluence, Aha!, GitHub.

Requirements

• 6+ years experience in project management and Agile methodologies, including scaling Agile across multiple teams.
• Deep expertise in Jira administration and reporting, including coaching and troubleshooting.
• Strong leadership and communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with AI-driven Agile/productivity tools (AI-assisted backlog grooming, reporting, team health insights).
• Proficiency with Jira, Confluence, and Aha! (or similar product/portfolio tools).
• Proven success leading multi-team Agile initiatives with complex dependency management.
• Experience mentoring/coaching other Scrum Masters.
