About the role
Role Overview
The Scrum Master will support the delivery of healthcare data solutions, with a primary focus on Medicare, Medicare Advantage, and risk adjustment.
Responsibilities
- Facilitate Agile ceremonies: daily stand-ups, sprint planning, sprint reviews, and sprint retrospectives.
- Resolve impediments: proactively identify, track, and clear roadblocks by coordinating with stakeholders on dependencies and access issues.
- Coach the team: mentor cross-functional teams (developers, testers, analysts) toward self-organization, high performance, and continuous improvement of Scrum practices.
- Backlog and release support: work with the CMS Product Owner and business stakeholders to refine user stories, prioritize the backlog, and plan release cycles.
- Track and report metrics: monitor sprint progress and team velocity; use Agile tools (e.g., Jira, Confluence) to report performance and drive process improvements.
- Ensure compliance and alignment: align delivery with CMS Target Architecture and federal healthcare data security protocols.
Requirements
- 5+ years as a dedicated Scrum Master in Agile software development, ideally in large federal or healthcare IT environments.
- CSM or PSM certification required.
- Familiarity with CMS programs (Medicare, Medicaid, healthcare.gov) or federal enterprise modernization.
- Proficiency with Agile project tracking tools, specifically Jira and Confluence.
Nice-to-Haves
- Experience supporting federal healthcare or large CMS-related initiatives.
