About the role

Role Overview

Scrum Master (servant leader) driving daily incremental improvement for an assigned team following Agile practices. You will coach teams to measurable outcomes, support cross-functional delivery, and help operationalize an Agile process across multiple product development teams.

Responsibilities

  • Coach and facilitate the Scrum process to drive measurable incremental improvements.
  • Lead and coordinate scrum activities, including:
    • Daily stand-ups
    • Sprint planning and sprint demos
    • Sprint retrospectives (create action plans and hold teams accountable)
  • Collaborate with Development leadership to:
    • Remove impediments for scrum teams
    • Maintain an overall Development and DevOps activity planner
  • Partner with the Product Owner on:
    • Backlog readiness and sprint support
    • Technical project management activities (including traceability)
    • Source code control and test case management
  • Support requirement specification by helping define Epics and User Stories for estimation and scheduling.
  • Oversee “quality-assisted” testing within the sprint to ensure readiness for QA delivery.
  • Define and maintain metric-based reporting to measure and improve team effectiveness.
  • Coordinate with the Technical Lead to foster team skill growth, product knowledge, and bench strength.
  • Formalize and ensure balanced workload distribution across team members.
  • Work with HR on career development and performance-related matters.

Requirements

  • Willingness to learn or prior knowledge of Agile software development and Scrum.
  • Experience facilitating and coaching productive teams.
  • Outcome-oriented, data-driven approach with ability to quantify results.
  • High emotional intelligence (EQ) and continuous learning mindset.
  • Ability to think in iterative improvement cycles (Plan/Do/Check/Adjust or OODA).
  • Good communication, technical, and people skills to coach teams.
  • Ability to create year-long or quarterly planning initiatives tied to measurable outcomes.

Qualifications

  • 4-year degree or equivalent prior experience managing teams.
  • Agile Scrum Master or Agile Coach certification is a plus (may be earned during onboarding/training).
  • Demonstrable knowledge of Agile methodologies/frameworks such as Scrum, Kanban, XP (plus).
  • Business or IT courses are a plus but not required.
