Scrum Master (Dual-Scrum)

Role Overview

Scrum Master for a Dual-Scrum operating model, supporting development Scrum Teams and coordinating with a Product Owner (PO) team that runs its own discovery and refinement sprints. You will help ensure product discovery outputs become sprint-ready work and drive predictable execution, collaboration, and continuous improvement across Product, UX, QA, and Engineering.

Responsibilities

Dual-Scrum Facilitation & PO Collaboration

• Partner with Product Owners to align PO sprint outputs with development sprint inputs.
• Facilitate joint sessions to clarify requirements, break down work, and ensure Definition of Ready is met.
• Coach POs on user story creation, acceptance criteria clarity, and incremental delivery planning.

Scrum Ceremony Facilitation & Coaching

• Facilitate Scrum ceremonies for onshore teams: sprint planning, daily standups, sprint reviews, and retrospectives.
• Coach teams on Scrum values, principles, and role expectations.
• Strengthen accountability, transparency, and self-organization.

Backlog Readiness & Workflow Optimization

• Lead backlog refinement and readiness sessions to maintain a pipeline of sprint-ready work 1–2 sprints ahead.
• Identify story gaps, dependencies, and risks early; follow up with stakeholders.
• Support smooth handoffs from Product discovery → engineering analysis → development → QA validation.

Impediment Resolution & Team Support

• Identify and remove blockers impacting sprint progress or quality.
• Protect teams from scope creep and conflicting priorities.
• Promote continuous improvement and high-quality, predictable delivery.

Cross-Functional Coordination & Communication

• Ensure communication across Product, UX, Development, QA, Architecture, and leadership.
• Communicate sprint goals, progress, risks, and dependencies to stakeholders.
• Support alignment on roadmap priorities, technical constraints, and delivery expectations.

Metrics, Reporting & Continuous Improvement

• Track and analyze sprint metrics (e.g., velocity, burndown, predictability, story readiness).
• Provide recommendations to improve team flow and delivery health.
• Turn retrospective improvement items into actionable plans.

Requirements

• CSM or PSM Scrum Master certification required.
• 5+ years experience as a Scrum Master or Agile facilitator in software development.
• Strong practical knowledge of Agile/Scrum and ability to coach both development and product teams.
• Exceptional facilitation, communication, and conflict-resolution skills.
• Ability to translate product goals into actionable execution plans.
• Skilled at driving alignment across cross-functional groups.
• Proficiency with Jira or comparable Agile lifecycle management tools.
• Experience supporting Product Owners or Business Analysts with refinement and backlog preparation.
