Scrum Master

Role Overview

Scrum Master / Flow Master leveraging Agile frameworks to coach teams delivering customer outcomes, while also acting as the operational backbone for an assigned portfolio.

Responsibilities

• Lead Agile software projects from product conception through release.
• Collaborate with engineers, product managers, and stakeholders to clarify objectives and expected outcomes.
• Facilitate Agile ceremonies: stand-ups, backlog refinement, sprint planning, sprint reviews, and retrospectives.
• Remove impediments and maintain Agile metrics via information radiators.
• Track and report Agile metrics (e.g., velocity, cycle time, sprint burndown, predictability) to identify trends and support data-informed decisions.
• Coach teams and CCM employees on Agile principles, frameworks, and best practices.
• Promote collaboration and transparency with accurate, timely stakeholder communication.
• Foster an environment focused on accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.

Portfolio / Intake & Flow Management

• Manage the portfolio intake pipeline end-to-end, ensuring submissions are triaged and ready for intake review.
• Enforce the single-path intake rule, routing all work through enablement via the portfolio backlog and redirecting direct requests.
• Coordinate portfolio ceremonies: intake review, portfolio sync, and portfolio leadership meetings, surfacing options/recommendations (without making priority/sequence decisions).
• Maintain portfolio visibility in Jira (dashboards, initiative statuses, and delivery-state accuracy).
• Maintain the portfolio health scorecard (delivery, governance, KPI health signals).
• Coordinate cross-portfolio dependencies with peer Flow Masters; escalate unresolved conflicts to the Delivery Manager or Portfolio Owner.
• Maintain an exception log (date change logs, intake bypass attempts, scope changes, priority overrides, emergency requests) with resolution tracking.
• Support quarterly portfolio planning, including capacity planning and objective setting (as described).
