About the role
Role Overview
As a Scrum Master you coordinate an Agile development team and oversee the software development lifecycle. You facilitate Scrum ceremonies, ensure teams follow required processes, and help remove impediments to keep the team on track to meet goals and milestones.
Responsibilities
- Plan and facilitate Scrum activities, including:
- Sprint planning
- Daily stand-ups
- Demos
- Board reviews
- Retrospectives
- Ensure work is properly broken down into stories, substories, tasks, and spikes and support planning for deliverables.
- Manage capacity and resource mapping/loading (capacity vs. needs), including resource balancing when schedules require more resources.
- Collaborate with clients/end users to understand business requirements.
- Act as a liaison between development teams and product management, ensuring appropriate project processes are followed.
- Identify, escalate, and remove impediments that could slow delivery or cause missed milestones (including pushing for recovery if a sprint falls behind).
- Support team backlog and Scrum process adherence, including backlog grooming scheduling.
Requirements
- 7+ years of related experience in an engineering field.
- Bachelor’s degree in a related technical field.
- Scrum Master experience with cross-functional Agile teams across one or more engineering disciplines:
- Mechanical/Electrical Engineering (Electronics, Embedded Systems & Mechatronics)
- Software Development & Validation/Testing
- Functional Safety (e.g., ISO 26262 or equivalent)
- Proficiency with Scrum tools, e.g. Jira.
- Strong understanding of Agile/Scrum and collaborative work with cross-functional teams.
Nice-to-Have
- Certified ScrumMaster (CSM) or similar certification preferred.
Location & Travel
- Remote, with travel required to Mendon, UT on an as-needed basis.
Compensation
- Base compensation range: $65,200 – $169,000/year (location-based pay transparency range).
