About the role
Role Overview
Aptive is seeking a Lean Agile Scrum Master to support a U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) Veterans Health Administration (VHA) Veterans Health Administration ORIS effort, providing Lean Agile program and project management support for Enterprise Health Records Management initiatives.
You will coordinate day-to-day program activities for overall program effort and multiple high-visibility VHA projects within the EIWMP Team, ensuring delivery schedules and quality targets are met.
Responsibilities
- Coordinate and manage day-to-day program activities; keep plans up to date and reflect evolving client needs
- Facilitate and lead ceremonies: daily stand-ups, sprint planning, reviews, and retrospectives
- Support program planning and execution through:
- generating status reports
- facilitating status update sessions and planning sessions
- protecting team focus while handling rapid-response demands
- Build and maintain delivery structure:
- create delivery schedules for project teams
- ensure adherence to program/project delivery targets and required VHA quality
- Design and implement lean, responsive processes for program planning and resource management within Jira, guided by Lean Agile principles
- Track team capacity and support rapid reallocation during surge events
- Coordinate dependencies across triage, workflow, training, and change-management workstreams
- Facilitate PI Planning and Inspect & Adapt workshops to align prioritization to government needs
- Demonstrate strong customer interaction with senior-level stakeholders across multiple concurrent tasks
Requirements (Minimum)
- Bachelor’s degree with 5+ years of relevant experience
- Certified Scrum Master (CSM) or equivalent Agile certification
- Experience facilitating Agile teams in a delivery environment
Nice to Have (Desired)
- SAFe and/or Lean Portfolio experience (e.g., SSM or equivalent)
- Prior work on VA or healthcare IT programs, especially Feder EHR or Oracle/Cerner
- Strong servant-leadership and impediment-removal skills
