About the role
Role Overview
You will serve as a servant-leader Scrum Master for one or more cross-functional Agile teams, helping them deliver high-quality outcomes, improve flow, and continuously elevate their ways of working.
Responsibilities
- Facilitate Scrum ceremonies with rigor and purpose:
- Sprint Planning, Daily Scrum, Sprint Review, Retrospective
- Ensure ceremonies produce actionable outcomes and drive transparency
- Coach teams and stakeholders on Agile principles and practices, including:
- Shared working agreements
- Definition of Ready/Done
- INVEST-quality user stories
- Remove impediments and optimize flow across teams/platforms; escalate risks and dependencies early and drive resolution paths
- Use Agile tooling and data (e.g., Jira) to:
- Maintain accurate backlogs/boards
- Capture sprint data
- Report delivery metrics to inform commitments and continuous improvement
- Partner with Product Owners to sustain a backlog refined at least one sprint ahead and clarify acceptance criteria and readiness
- Align delivery to program governance by collaborating with Program Managers and technical/partner teams to support PI objectives, release planning, and cross-team synchronization
- Drive continuous improvement through data-informed retrospectives that increase quality, predictability, and stakeholder value
- Support SDLC/compliance governance, including transparent status and decision logs
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in a business-related field, or equivalent education/experience
- Proven servant leadership, facilitation, conflict resolution, continual improvement, and increasing transparency
- Knowledge of Agile patterns/techniques (e.g., burndown, retrospective formats, handling bugs)
- Facility with Agile tools, especially Jira, for user story capture and progress tracking
- Strong communication and mentoring skills
- Ability to use and present data to tell a story to the team and leadership
Preferred Qualifications
- 3–5+ years as a Scrum Master (or Agile Delivery Lead) supporting cross-functional software/product teams
- Expertise coaching teams/stakeholders; Scrum and Agile practice proficiency
- Strong Jira and delivery metrics knowledge; backlog management and data-driven improvement
- Recognized Agile certification such as PSM I/II, CSM, or SAFe SM (SSM)
- Experience with SAFe or scaling frameworks (Scrum@Scale, LeSS)
- Exposure to enterprise SDLC governance and integrating Jira data into program reporting
- Additional certifications (e.g., PSM II/III, SAFe SM, SPOC) and experience coaching multiple teams
- Background in regulated/financial services environments
Compensation
Estimated salary range: $95,000 – $120,000 annually (actual pay depends on factors including qualifications, experience, and geography/work location).
