Role Overview

SAP Business Analyst / Data Analyst (6 openings)

Remote (EST/CST hours). Contract length: 5 months. Start: immediate.

You will work with the data team to modernize business processes and data flows by bridging SAP ERP needs with cloud-based (GCP/SaaS) capabilities.

Responsibilities

Solve complex business problems using business process redesign and cloud computing.
Assess AS-IS processes and define new processes/business flows leveraging Google Cloud Platform (GCP) and SaaS capabilities.
Consult with data engineering and functional unit owners (Finance, Sales, Supply Chain) to produce gap analysis of capabilities, requirements, and technology needs.
Apply business process re-engineering for systems modernization.
Develop and document standard operating procedures and a Data Lake handbook.
Prepare and present findings, recommendations, new operating models, and workflows.
Create a methodology to measure process performance against defined metrics.
Gather and translate business needs into documented artifacts understandable to both business and IT.
Analyze processes and system issues, then define actionable system changes to improve operational efficiency.
Collaborate with project teams for planning, incremental delivery reviews, and User Acceptance Testing (UAT) to ensure implementation matches specifications.
Handle 1–3 projects/assignments concurrently.

5–7+ years of hands-on SAP techno-functional experience with strong knowledge of SAP datasets such as:
- Sales, Purchasing, Materials Management
- Integrated Business Planning (IBP)
Ability to direct mapping of SAP datasets into a non-SAP cloud platform (e.g., for Sales: modeling Sales Orders with invoices, shipments, and master data).
Responsible for writing functional specifications for created datasets.
Deep knowledge of SQL and CDS views, including joining and analyzing complex data structures.
Experience with SDLC and Agile/Scrum, including:
- eliciting/documenting user stories and acceptance criteria
- backlog management
- sprint reviews
Data/process modeling experience (e.g., process flows, use cases, swim lanes, AS-IS/TO-BE, mock-ups/wireframes).
Experience in process re-engineering.
Knowledge of information security awareness.
Understanding of web applications.
Liaison capability between the data team and the SAP ERP team.
