About the role

Role Overview

Salesforce Product Owner (Rock Island, IL or Remote (U.S. - all states)) Drive the development and enhancement of software products by owning product lifecycle activities, requirements, backlog prioritization, and release execution in alignment with business objectives and customer needs.

Responsibilities

  • Define and communicate a product vision and strategy aligned to business goals and customer needs
  • Elicit, document, and prioritize product requirements with stakeholders, customers, and development teams
  • Translate business needs into user stories with clear acceptance criteria
  • Maintain and continuously refine the product backlog to reflect the most valuable and feasible work
  • Partner cross-functionally with developers, designers, QA, and stakeholders to ensure shared understanding of goals and requirements
  • Plan and coordinate product releases (scope, objectives, timelines)
  • Monitor development progress, track KPIs, and report product status to stakeholders
  • Work with QA to define test cases and acceptance criteria for a high-quality, defect-free release
  • Advocate for user-centric UX/UI and collaborate with UX/UI to create intuitive interfaces
  • Identify opportunities for process improvements and participate in retrospectives

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Business, or related field
  • 4+ years experience as a Product Owner (or similar) delivering complex software products
  • Agile experience with Scrum or Kanban
  • Strong communication, negotiation, and collaboration skills across technical and non-technical teams
  • Analytical ability to translate business needs into detailed requirements/specs
  • Familiarity with software development lifecycle: design, development, testing, deployment
  • Experience with tools such as Jira, Confluence, and GitHub (version control)
  • Strategic mindset aligned to business objectives
  • Problem-solving, adaptability, and proactive attitude
  • Leadership qualities to inspire and motivate cross-functional teams
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
  • Ability to travel up to 25% (occasionally overnight)
  • Not eligible for sponsorship

Preferred Qualifications

  • Scrum Product Owner Certification
