About the role

Role Overview

Salesforce Product Owner (Rock Island, IL or Remote (U.S. - all states)) Drive the development and enhancement of software products by owning product lifecycle activities, requirements, backlog prioritization, and release execution in alignment with business objectives and customer needs.

Responsibilities

Define and communicate a product vision and strategy aligned to business goals and customer needs
Elicit, document, and prioritize product requirements with stakeholders, customers, and development teams
Translate business needs into user stories with clear acceptance criteria
Maintain and continuously refine the product backlog to reflect the most valuable and feasible work
Partner cross-functionally with developers, designers, QA, and stakeholders to ensure shared understanding of goals and requirements
Plan and coordinate product releases (scope, objectives, timelines)
Monitor development progress, track KPIs, and report product status to stakeholders
Work with QA to define test cases and acceptance criteria for a high-quality, defect-free release
Advocate for user-centric UX/UI and collaborate with UX/UI to create intuitive interfaces
Identify opportunities for process improvements and participate in retrospectives

Required Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Business, or related field
4+ years experience as a Product Owner (or similar) delivering complex software products
Agile experience with Scrum or Kanban
Strong communication, negotiation, and collaboration skills across technical and non-technical teams
Analytical ability to translate business needs into detailed requirements/specs
Familiarity with software development lifecycle: design, development, testing, deployment
Experience with tools such as Jira, Confluence, and GitHub (version control)
Strategic mindset aligned to business objectives
Problem-solving, adaptability, and proactive attitude
Leadership qualities to inspire and motivate cross-functional teams
Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
Ability to travel up to 25% (occasionally overnight)
