Rust Developer - Remote

Role Overview

Rust Engineer (Contract, Remote) — hourly paid and fully remote. You will review or generate AI-produced Rust code and explanations, evaluate reasoning quality, and provide expert feedback so models produce accurate, logical, and clearly explained outputs.

Responsibilities

• Review AI-generated Rust code and explanations for correctness, safety, and prompt adherence.
• Generate Rust solutions/explanations when needed, using idiomatic Rust patterns.
• Diagnose issues in ownership, borrowing, lifetimes, and algorithmic reasoning; identify errors in reasoning or implementation.
• Fact-check and validate responses for accuracy, integrity, and reliability.
• Evaluate and compare multiple AI responses, rating them by correctness and reasoning quality.
• Develop AI training content by creating detailed prompts across topics to guide model learning.
• Optimize model performance by ranking responses to improve accuracy, fluency, and contextual relevance.
• Ensure model integrity by testing for inaccuracies or biases across use cases.

Requirements

• 1–2+ years of professional Rust development (backend, CLI, or systems-focused projects).
• Strong grasp of ownership, borrowing, and lifetimes, with clear reasoning about aliasing and data races.
• Solid experience building Rust backend services, command-line tools, or systems programming.
• Ability to evaluate safe, idiomatic Rust (traits, generics, pattern matching, and error handling).
• Experience using LLMs / AI coding assistants with a disciplined validation process.
• Excellent English writing for precise, structured, pedagogical technical explanations.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field.
• C1+ English proficiency and highly detail-oriented work style.

Nice to Have

• Experience with Tokio, Actix, Serde, and async Rust patterns in production or advanced projects.
• Competitive programming experience.
• Contributions to Rust open-source ecosystems.
• Demonstrated reasoning about performance, concurrency, and correctness.
• Experience with AI data training, code review at scale, or evaluation of AI-generated technical content.
