About the role

Role Overview

You’ll be a Rust Developer (AI Training) evaluating and improving AI-generated systems-level Rust code. The goal is to help ensure the code meets Rust’s standards for memory safety, concurrency correctness, and performance.

Responsibilities

Review and critique AI-generated Rust code for:
- Memory safety
- Concurrency correctness
- Performance optimization
Design, build, and optimize high-performance Rust systems to support AI evaluation workflows.
Develop backend services and tooling for large-scale data validation and quality control.
Identify bottlenecks, edge cases, and subtle bugs, and propose scalable, idiomatic Rust fixes.
Provide structured expert feedback to help AI models generate safer and more performant Rust.
Work independently and asynchronously on your own schedule.

Requirements

5+ years of professional experience writing production-grade Rust, with strong focus on memory safety and concurrency.
Strong background in systems programming and performance optimization.
Bachelor’s degree (or higher) in Computer Science or related field.
Ability to clearly explain complex low-level concepts in plain English.
Detail-oriented, methodical problem solving.
Self-motivated and reliable while working independently.

Nice to Have

Experience with distributed systems architecture or developer tooling.
Familiarity with AI code generation tools or LLM evaluation workflows.
Background in compiler design, OS internals, or embedded systems.
Contributing to open-source Rust projects.

Contract & Schedule

Type: Hourly contract
Location: Fully remote
Commitment: 10–40 hours/week
Onboarding/training support provided; potential for ongoing work/extension.
