Rust Coding Specialist - Freelance AI Trainer Project

Role Overview

You will work as a Rust Coding Specialist (Freelance AI Trainer) to help train and challenge advanced language models on real software engineering tasks. Your goal is to generate high-quality training data by verifying Rust code correctness, assessing quality, and documenting failure modes.

Responsibilities

• Converse with the model on software engineering tasks and technical scenarios using Rust
• Verify logical accuracy and Rust coding fluency
• Assess code quality and clarity and suggest improvements
• Capture reproducible error traces and document failure modes
• Advise on and improve prompt engineering and evaluation metrics
• Handle topics such as:
  • Asynchronous programming
  • RESTful API integration
  • Memory management
  • Object-oriented design
  • Secure coding practices
  • Debugging distributed systems
• Communicate clearly and explicitly ("show your work")

Requirements

• Strong expertise in algorithms, data structures, software architecture, and systems programming
• Fluency in Rust for both backend and frontend development scenarios (as applicable)
• Clear, metacognitive communication: document reasoning and steps
• A bachelor’s, master’s, or PhD in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a closely related field (ideal)
• Demonstrated fit via real-world Rust experience, technical writing, or open-source contributions

Pay & Contract Details

• Contract / Remote
• Pay range: $6–$65 per hour, exact rate depends on experience, expertise, and geographic location
• Contractors provide their own secure computer and high-speed internet; company-sponsored benefits (e.g., health insurance, PTO) do not apply
