Location & Employment

• 100% Remote (U.S.)
• Full-time (Direct W2)
• Salary: $100,000–$150,000 annually

Responsibilities

• Develop robotics software in C++ and Python with focus on real-time performance and reliability
• Build and integrate sensor data pipelines for cameras, LiDAR, IMUs, and proprioceptive sensors
• Implement perception, localization, and mapping (including SLAM and sensor fusion) for robust real-world state estimation
• Create motion planning, control, and trajectory generation that respect kinematic/dynamic constraints and ensure safe robot behavior
• Build behavioral systems using state machines, behavior trees, or task planners
• Integrate ROS / ROS 2 with custom hardware and embedded systems
• Apply safety-critical patterns (watchdogs, fault detection, safe stops)
• Develop and test in simulation using Gazebo and Isaac Sim
• Collaborate with cross-functional partners (product, design, engineering, operations, business) to turn ambiguous requirements into engineered solutions
• Execute field tests, perform data collection and post-test analysis
• Maintain technical documentation (architecture diagrams, runbooks, configuration references, operational procedures)
• Mentor junior/mid-level engineers through reviews, pair programming, and knowledge sharing
• Evaluate new robotics technologies/frameworks and recommend what to adopt, pilot, or defer

Requirements

• BS or MS in Robotics, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or related field
• 5+ years robotics software engineering experience
• Strong C++ and Python fundamentals
• Production experience with ROS / ROS 2
