Risk and Compliance Manager (Marketing)

Role overview

As a Risk and Compliance Manager (Marketing) at Marqeta, you will support the Senior Compliance Manager in implementing and managing the company’s consumer compliance program, with a focus on marketing compliance.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in the implementation and management of Marqeta’s consumer compliance program, including marketing compliance and compliance advisory support.
• Drive formal review processes for external marketing content and campaigns to ensure alignment with legal and regulatory requirements.
• Coordinate with Legal, Marketing, and other departments to secure required approvals.
• Provide compliance advisory support across cross-functional teams.
• Monitor industry trends and regulations and support continuous improvement of compliance processes.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in regulatory marketing compliance within banking, financial services, or fintech.
• Proven experience with Banking as a Service (for/with a regulated bank or as a program manager or similar).
• Strong understanding of consumer protection regulations (e.g., UDAP/UDAAP, Reg Z, E, B, etc.), advertising standards, and industry best practices.
• Exceptional communication and stakeholder collaboration skills across departments.
• Strong analytical skills, prioritization ability, and continuous improvement mindset.
• Experience using collateral review systems/tools (e.g., Blee, Workfront, Red Oak, etc.).

Nice-to-haves

• CRC M designation or similar compliance designation.
• Strong knowledge of bank and/or payments financial ecosystems.
• Detail-oriented with strong organizational and project management abilities.
• Ability to manage a small team.
• Experience supporting bank partnerships, audits, and examinations.
