About the role

Role Overview

Turing is looking for an experienced Retail Operations Manager to work on projects that evaluate and improve AI using retail business and operations expertise. No prior AI experience is required. You will help apply AI to support better decision-making, improve sales performance, and optimize end-to-end retail operations.

Day-to-Day

Design and solve real-world retail management and operations scenarios to test AI reasoning
Write clear, structured solutions covering:
- Inventory management
- Staffing
- Merchandising
- Performance optimization
Evaluate AI-generated outputs for clarity, operational accuracy, and business relevance
Collaborate with AI researchers to improve understanding of leadership communication, supply chain processes, and retail analytics

Requirements

4+ years of experience as a General Manager, Operations Manager, or Retail Leader
Strong understanding of retail operations, supply chain coordination, and sales execution strategies
Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent experience) in Business, Operations, or Retail Management (preferred)
Excellent English communication and analytical reasoning skills
Must be based in the United States

Engagement / Perks

Fully remote
Contractor assignment / freelancer; potentially full-time
Project duration: ~1 month, with possibility of extension
