Role Overview

Retail Operations Manager working on short, practical projects to evaluate and improve AI using retail operations expertise. No prior AI experience is required; you’ll apply business knowledge to help AI reasoning support better decision-making and optimize end-to-end retail operations.

Day-to-Day

Design and solve real-world retail management and operations scenarios to test AI reasoning
Write clear, structured solutions for:
- Inventory management
- Staffing
- Merchandising
- Performance optimization
Evaluate AI outputs for clarity, operational accuracy, and business relevance
Collaborate with AI researchers to improve model understanding of:
- Leadership communication
- Supply chain processes
- Retail analytics

Requirements

4+ years of experience as a General Manager, Operations Manager, or Retail Leader
Strong understanding of retail operations, supply chain coordination, and sales execution strategies
Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent experience) in Business, Operations, or Retail Management (preferred)
Excellent English communication and analytical reasoning skills
Must be based in the United States

Engagement / Details

Fully remote
Contractor assignment / freelancer (potentially full-time)
Project duration: ~1 month, with possibility of extension
Compensation is strong, but the exact amount varies by project
