Research Scientist Intern (AI/ML Research - Fraud, Authentication, Speech, and Video)

Role Overview

Research Scientist Intern (AI/ML Research) Focus areas include fraud detection, authentication/identity verification, speech & audio processing, video analysis, biometrics, and synthetic media detection.

Responsibilities

• Develop and evaluate machine learning systems for fraud detection, authentication, biometric verification, speech processing, video understanding, and synthetic media detection.
• Prototype and validate research ideas using state-of-the-art AI/ML techniques to build proof-of-concept systems.
• Work with multimodal data (speech/audio/video and related signals) to improve accuracy, robustness, and real-world performance.
• Benchmark against industry standards using internal and public datasets and compare approaches to state-of-the-art methods.
• Collaborate with researchers and engineers to translate research into practical capabilities.
• Contribute to technical outputs such as reports, publications, and thought leadership when appropriate.

Requirements (Must-haves)

• Active enrollment in a PhD program in a quantitative field (e.g., Computer Science, Mathematics, Engineering, Artificial Intelligence).
• Demonstrated experience in one or more areas such as:
  • fraud detection
  • authentication and identity verification
  • speech processing
  • audio and/or video deepfake detection
  • synthetic media generation/synthesis
  • speaker recognition/processing
  • anti-spoofing / voice biometrics / facial recognition
  • video understanding and analysis
  • ML for security, biometrics, or trust & safety
• Python skills required.

Nice-to-haves
