About the role
Role Overview
iSpot is hiring a Research Data Scientist 1 to help advance measurement in the TV viewing and advertising space. You’ll contribute to the Research Data Science team’s audience measurement, attribution, lift analytics, and creative testing solutions by developing methodologies, building prototypes, and scaling models with product and engineering teams.
Responsibilities
- Data Analysis and Modeling: Perform in-depth analysis and build advanced statistical models using large viewing and demographic datasets.
- Machine Learning Development: Develop, train, and deploy state-of-the-art ML models for measurement problems.
- Data Pipeline Development: Partner with Engineering to design and implement data pipelines for collecting, processing, and transforming data from multiple sources.
- Research and Innovation: Stay current with new data science techniques and explore novel approaches to complex measurement challenges.
Requirements
- Degree in a quantitative discipline (e.g., math, economics, statistics, computer science, physics, social sciences) or related field.
- 1–3 years of professional experience in data science and/or modeling.
- Strong tooling skills, especially Python, R, and/or SQL (advanced user); willingness to learn new tools.
- Excellent data wrangling and data analysis skills.
- Experience working with high-dimensional datasets.
- Pragmatic, team-oriented mindset.
- Strong communication, writing, and critical thinking; attention to detail.
Nice to Have
- Master’s degree (preferred but not required).
Work Setup
- Hybrid for people local to iSpot offices in Bellevue, WA or New York, NY (typically 1–3 days in office/week).
- Fully remote for those in roles that are not office-based and located further away.
Compensation
- Target cash compensation range: $95,950–$106,000 USD annually (base salary plus potential variable commission/annual bonus for eligible roles) and eligibility for equity (stock options) for full-time employees.
