About the role

Role Overview

REMOTE UI/UX Designer (product coordination experience) for an early-stage SaaS project management platform. You’ll be an early product hire, shaping the user experience and helping establish scalable design and development processes while partnering with executive leadership and outsourced development partners.

Responsibilities

Design intuitive, user-centered UX/UI for a web-based project management SaaS
Create wireframes, user flows, prototypes, mockups, and high-fidelity UI designs
Build and maintain design systems, UI standards, and style guides
Conduct user research and incorporate feedback to improve usability and adoption
Translate business objectives into effective user experiences
Collaborate on product vision and feature execution
- Participate in ideation and contribute solutions
- Create functional specs, user stories, workflows, and design documentation
- Support QA testing, feature validation, and release readiness
- Analyze user feedback and product performance to recommend enhancements
Project coordination and development management
- Serve as the primary liaison between internal stakeholders and outsourced development teams
- Coordinate sprint timelines, deliverables, and milestones; track progress to ensure on-time delivery
- Communicate priorities, requirements, updates, and identify/resolve risks and blockers
- Maintain project documentation and reporting

Requirements

3+ years of UX/UI design experience for web applications or SaaS
Strong portfolio showing user-centered design and modern UI work
Experience coordinating software development or managing product/project work
Ability to work closely with developers/engineering teams or outsourced partners
Strong foundation in UX research, information architecture, and usability testing
Experience translating business requirements into user experiences and technical specs
Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced startup environment
Strong communication, organization, and stakeholder management skills
Ability to work independently while partnering closely with leadership

Nice-to-Haves / Plus

Experience with SaaS, workflow tools, or project management software

Tools / Technical Competencies

Figma and/or other design tools (Adobe Creative Suite, Sketch, or similar)
Prototyping, user journey mapping, interaction design
Responsive, mobile-first design
Design system creation
