Remote Senior iOS Engineer

Role Overview

Remote Senior iOS Engineer for a product used by tens of thousands of transportation professionals. The iOS app is a key entry point to the core product, combining navigation and planning with on-device features like routing intelligence and document scanning.

What You’ll Do

• Shape the app’s architecture, UI, and core implementation details down to database and networking.
• Work closely with teammates maintaining the Android app and server systems that provide a stable API and handle user data synchronization.
• Write and expand automated test coverage for your work.
• Collaborate with QA to reproduce and fix issues reported from the field.
• Use CI to generate builds quickly for the team, minimizing time spent on Xcode toil.

What You Bring

• Strong experience maintaining and evolving an iOS app.
• Product-minded approach: understand the problem and identify edge cases; propose technical tradeoffs.
• Ownership mindset: remain involved through testing and real-world feedback.
• Deep comfort with Xcode and building UI using UIKit and SwiftUI.
• Experience with network requests, model state management, and persistence using Core Data or SQLite.
• Experience with both Swift and Objective-C (with new development primarily in Swift).

Nice to Haves

• Experience with cloud-hosted automated acceptance testing and CI-based release build processes.
