About the role
Role Overview
Remote, part-time Senior Accountant/Accounting Manager for a growing, multi-entity company. You will own end-to-end accounting for one business unit within the larger organization and report to the Controller.
Responsibilities
- Own day-to-day, full-cycle accounting (journal entries, accruals, GL maintenance)
- Work in QuickBooks as the primary system of record
- Run month-end and year-end close for the entity
- Prepare/review GL reconciliations and resolve discrepancies
- Review payroll-related transactions for accuracy and correct recording
- Support corporate accounting with reporting, analysis, and consolidation
- Be available for phone calls and email during business hours (Mon–Fri, 8am–5pm)
Schedule
- Hours vary by month
- Month-end close weeks: up to ~40 hours
- Typically lighter: last two weeks around ~20 hours, depending on business needs
- Not a consistent 40-hour/week role, but responsiveness during business hours is required
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance (required)
- QuickBooks experience required (daily use)
- 5+ years progressive full-cycle accounting experience
- Proven ability to work independently in a remote environment while staying accessible Mon–Fri
Nice to Have
- CPA (plus)
- Microsoft Great Plains experience
