Remote Part-Time Assistant Controller (QuickBooks Required)

Role Overview

Remote, part-time Senior Accountant/Accounting Manager for a growing, multi-entity company. You will own end-to-end accounting for one business unit within the larger organization and report to the Controller.

Responsibilities

• Own day-to-day, full-cycle accounting (journal entries, accruals, GL maintenance)
• Work in QuickBooks as the primary system of record
• Run month-end and year-end close for the entity
• Prepare/review GL reconciliations and resolve discrepancies
• Review payroll-related transactions for accuracy and correct recording
• Support corporate accounting with reporting, analysis, and consolidation
• Be available for phone calls and email during business hours (Mon–Fri, 8am–5pm)

Schedule

• Hours vary by month
• Month-end close weeks: up to ~40 hours
• Typically lighter: last two weeks around ~20 hours, depending on business needs
• Not a consistent 40-hour/week role, but responsiveness during business hours is required

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance (required)
• QuickBooks experience required (daily use)
• 5+ years progressive full-cycle accounting experience
• Proven ability to work independently in a remote environment while staying accessible Mon–Fri

Nice to Have

• CPA (plus)
• Microsoft Great Plains experience
