Remote - Frontend / Full-Stack Engineer - Contract to Hire

Role overview

Remote Frontend / Full-Stack Engineer (Contract to Hire) supporting web and mobile platform convergence. You’ll build scalable frontend features, modernize legacy code, debug production issues, and contribute to backend services.

Responsibilities

• Develop and enhance frontend features with React
• Support app rebuilds and platform convergence initiatives
• Implement product enhancements and backlog/feature improvements
• Debug production issues and perform root-cause analysis
• Refactor legacy code for scalability and maintainability
• Support mobile functionality using React Native
• Collaborate with product, UX, and backend teams
• Contribute to backend services using Java / Spring Boot
• Participate in Agile ceremonies, sprint planning, and code reviews

Requirements

• Strong experience with React, JavaScript, and TypeScript
• Experience with hooks, state management, and component architecture
• Hands-on experience consuming REST APIs
• Frontend debugging and performance optimization experience
• Exposure to React Native
• Understanding of Java and Spring Boot and backend integration
• Experience working with RESTful APIs
• Experience in Agile/Scrum environments
• Strong communication and collaboration skills

Preferred skills

• Experience with large-scale consumer applications
• Experience with platform migrations and app modernization
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and cloud environments
• Retail, e-commerce, or membership platform experience

• Lead frontend architectural and design decisions
