Remote | Frontend Engineering Expert — $85–$125/hour

Role overview

Part-time remote consulting opportunity for an experienced frontend engineering expert to review frontend-related technical scenarios and provide structured, evidence-based feedback. You’ll evaluate UI implementation quality, workflow realism, and performance characteristics, and may support technical documentation and project execution tasks.

Responsibilities

• Frontend Engineering & UI Review
  • Review web app UI scenarios across component structure, state management, and responsive layouts.
  • Evaluate frontend outputs against source requirements, technical constraints, expected functionality, and review criteria.
  • Support structured review of React, Vue, Angular, HTML, CSS, JavaScript, TypeScript and related frontend workflows.
  • Identify missing requirements, UI inconsistencies, implementation gaps, and expected review outcomes.
• Performance, State Management & Technical Workflow
  • Review frontend performance, rendering behavior, browser compatibility, and accessibility.
  • Evaluate state management approaches and API integration patterns.
  • Assess recommendations for clarity, correctness, maintainability, scalability, and adherence to frontend engineering standards.
• Frontend Task Evaluation & Structured Feedback
  • Annotate/validate frontend artifacts across development, debugging, and testing scenarios.
  • Provide clear written feedback on technical accuracy, UI quality, code structure, workflow realism, and engineering reasoning.
  • Apply judgment across product requirements, user experience, design systems, frontend architecture, and implementation tradeoffs.

Requirements

• Professional experience in frontend engineering / UI engineering and web application development.
• Strong familiarity with one or more of: React, Vue, Angular, JavaScript, TypeScript, HTML, CSS, responsive UI, state management, and frontend performance optimization.
• Ability to read and produce frontend artifacts (code snippets, component specs, UI notes, bug reports, test cases, implementation plans, technical summaries).
• Strong written communication skills.
• Comfortable working independently in a remote, project-based consulting environment.

Nice to have

• Experience with React/Vue/Angular ecosystem tools and patterns such as Next.js, Nuxt, Svelte, Redux, Zustand, MobX.
• API and data skills: GraphQL, REST APIs.
• Styling/UI tooling: Tailwind, CSS modules, design systems, component libraries.
• Testing/accessibility/performance tooling: browser dev tools, performance profiling.
• Workflow tooling: CI/CD, Git, Storybook (mentioned as “Story…”).
