Remote Frontend Developer – React/Next.js Migration

Role Overview

Join a long-term, part-time remote project to enhance and migrate an existing web application from React to Next.js. You’ll focus on completing UI, fixing layout/responsive issues, and improving maintainability and performance—working to evolve an existing product rather than starting from scratch.

Responsibilities

• Continue the migration of the web application from React to Next.js, ensuring seamless integration
• Restore and complete missing UI components
• Fix layout and responsive design inconsistencies across devices
• Refactor frontend code to improve maintainability, scalability, and performance
• Identify and resolve bugs, UI inconsistencies, and technical debt
• Collaborate on new feature implementation and ongoing enhancements
• Review and understand existing architecture and codebase for high-quality delivery
• Communicate progress and challenges effectively with stakeholders

Requirements

• Production experience with React and Next.js
• Strong JavaScript, TypeScript, HTML, and CSS
• Proven ability to refactor and optimize large codebases
• Solid understanding of responsive/adaptive design principles
• Familiarity with UI/UX best practices and strong attention to detail
• Ability to troubleshoot and resolve complex frontend issues
• Experience with Git (or similar version control)
• Proactive problem-solving and strong independent work habits in a remote setting
• Availability for ongoing, long-term collaboration

Nice to Have

• Deep familiarity with existing architecture/codebase and experience taking over incomplete UI work
• Prior experience reducing technical debt during migrations
