About the role
Role overview
Remote Design Consultant / Design Architect supporting warehouse and manufacturing operations. You will collaborate with clients and sales teams to develop innovative, tailored solutions that improve operational efficiency, storage density, and overall ROI.
Responsibilities
- Design optimization: Use simulation and engineering tools to analyze and optimize Autostore layouts and processes.
- Data analysis: Collect and analyze warehouse operation data (inventory flow, storage needs, order fulfillment).
- Simulation modeling: Build and run simulation models to predict performance, identify bottlenecks, and propose improvements.
- Cross-functional collaboration: Partner with engineering, operations, and sales to gather requirements and ensure designs meet client goals and best practices.
- Client engagement: Present design concepts and simulation results clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Continuous improvement: Stay current on industry trends and technologies to enhance Autostore designs.
- Documentation: Produce detailed design documentation including specifications, drawings, and simulation reports.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering, Systems Engineering, or related field.
- 5+ years experience in warehouse design/operations or related roles, preferably automated systems such as AutoStore.
- Proficiency with simulation software (e.g., AnyLogic, FlexSim) and engineering design tools (e.g., AutoCAD, SolidWorks).
- Strong analytical skills with experience in data analysis and modeling.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills for non-technical stakeholders.
