About the role
Role Overview
Release Customs Analyst (PM Shift) supporting customs processing and shipment release in a fast-paced international trade operations environment. You’ll help ensure shipments move on time with accurate documentation and compliance with customs regulations.
Responsibilities
- Process, review, and release client shipments across different transportation modes while meeting service deadlines and quality standards
- Create customs entries by reviewing shipment documentation and selecting appropriate client records, vendors, and classification information
- Enter and validate shipment data required for release, rating, billing, and compliance
- Ensure accurate customs values, tariff classifications, and trade treatments based on shipment details
- Review documentation to confirm release conditions and regulatory/compliance accuracy
- Contact internal teams or clients to obtain missing documents, instructions, or required information
- Follow SOPs, exception processes, and client/compliance guidelines
- Identify opportunities to improve workflows, automation usage, and operational efficiency
- Respond professionally to information requests via phone and email
- Prioritize workload based on customs requirements, client commitments, and operational priorities
- Escalate complex issues and authorization/compliance concerns to the appropriate teams
- Support billing-related activities and data entry when required
- Maintain accurate records and adhere to policies and procedures
Requirements
- Detail-oriented and highly organized
- Strong communication skills (written and verbal) and professional customer-service mindset
- Ability to manage deadlines and handle high-volume workflows accurately
- Strong time management and commitment to data accuracy
- Ability to analyze information, solve problems, and make decisions within established guidelines
- High school diploma/GED or equivalent required
- No prior professional experience required (training provided)
- Associate degree or additional post-secondary education preferred
