About the role

Role Overview

Regional Sales Manager (People Manager) for J&J MedTech, within the Ethicon Endo Surgery franchise (MedTech sales – Capital Sales, commission). Based in Lucknow (Greater Lucknow Area), you will grow the business region by building strong relationships with healthcare professionals and retailers, setting sales direction, and leading the sales team to achieve/exceed targets.

Key Responsibilities

  • Build customer relationships (HCPs and retail/corporate/trade/government accounts) to develop and expand business in the region.
  • Develop and execute sales strategies and objectives to realize market potential.
  • Sell franchise products across relevant account types (including Government tenders and corporate/trade accounts).
  • Lead negotiations to optimize contractual opportunities and support long-term supply arrangements.
  • Analyze sales performance reports to identify opportunities and risks; re-prioritize resources to maximize sales.
  • Ensure compliance with the sales plan across volume, price, and value objectives.
  • Lead MDAs and Professional Education programs with HCPs in the region.
  • Region management:
    • Translate customer needs into sales opportunities.
    • Expand and convert coverage; work in the field with team members on key accounts.
    • Maintain high customer rapport and reinforce commitment to superior customer service.
    • Monitor and analyze competitive landscape (competitors’ structure, culture, personnel, distribution, capabilities) and incorporate insights into plans.

Requirements

  • In-depth knowledge of the Ethicon Endo Surgery/MedTech product portfolio and strong commercial understanding of related J&J products and services.
  • Strong ability to empathize with customer needs and maintain sharp competitive and market trend knowledge.
  • Demonstrated leadership capability to inspire, direct, motivate, coach, and develop a sales team.

Nice-to-Haves

  • Experience building dealer networks, expanding into new territories, and developing new business opportunities within MedTech sales.
  • Experience running HCP professional education programs and leading tender/contract negotiations.
