About the role
Role Overview
Wing is hiring a Regional Flight Operations Support Manager for the Flight Operations team. The role is remote within the United States and leads regional support operations, vendor coordination, and team performance.
Responsibilities
- People Leadership & Development
- Directly manage, mentor, and develop Flight Operations Support Coordinators
- Set expectations, coach regularly, and deliver actionable feedback
- Oversee Regional Vendor Strategy
- Serve as the primary regional point of contact for vendor leadership
- Ensure contract adherence and optimize deployment of Ground Support and Visual Observer crews
- Operational Systems Governance
- Oversee regional use of workforce management tools (e.g., Deputy, ServiceNow) and Google Workspace (G Suite)
- Maintain high data integrity and consistent scheduling protocols
- Financial & Administrative Oversight
- Primary approver for timesheets, expense reports, and regional travel
- Translate regional budget complexity into actionable problem-solving steps
- Long-Range Capacity Planning
- Forecast staffing needs based on projected flight volumes
- Adjust vendor headcount and recruitment pipelines in partnership with internal stakeholders
- SOP Development & Training
- Create and maintain Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for site logistics and crew readiness
- Ensure consistent “Wing Standards” and compliance with health & safety policies
- Cross-Functional Integration & Outreach
- Coordinate with Maintenance, Training, and Community Affairs to align on shared goals
- Represent Wing in regional outreach with public and government visitors
Requirements
- 5+ years experience in aviation operations, logistics, or workforce management, including people management of distributed teams
- Valid Driver’s License
- Ability to set priorities, coach, and manage performance in high-pressure environments
- Independent project planning and problem-solving with moderate complexity and ambiguity
- Ability to work 5 days/week, including weekends and/or holidays as needed
- 2+ years direct experience in Commercial Drone operations (Part 107/135)
- Active 14 CFR Part 107 Remote Pilot Certificate required
- Ability to perform moderate physical work and remain attentive outdoors for extended periods (including lifting/transporting equipment)
- Strong communication skills for managing external vendors and partnering with internal stakeholders using clear, data-backed updates
