Regional Civil Design Engineer Project Manager

Role overview

Regional Civil Design Engineering Project Manager (remote) for the West region of the United States (California, Oregon, Washington, Arizona). Reporting to the West Region VP of Construction and Design, you will guide the athletic facility design process in partnership with Sales and Construction.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and manage production of civil design/construction plans (notes, details, plan/profile sheets, cross-sections)
• Prepare schedules, assign projects, and update the project database
• Prepare and negotiate design agreements (schedule, scope, budget)
• Prepare and submit permitting packages
• Lead technical stormwater calculations for athletic facility development
• Produce technical reports, memos, and exhibits to support project documentation
• Perform technical review of drawings, specifications, calculations, and shop drawings for conformance
• Conduct preliminary engineering evaluations (quantity take-offs and opinions of probable construction cost)
• Research and select technical reference data for specifications
• Support Sales with concept designs and client meetings
• Communicate with jurisdictions, peers, clients, and supervisors to ensure project success
• Ensure compliance with safety regulations, standard operating procedures, and quality standards
• Collaborate with installation crews, subcontractors, and sales teams to resolve technical/operational issues
• Conduct site construction visits and write field reports
• Review/approve subcontractor invoices and support project billing, design, and engineering tasks
• Oversee project closeout (Certificates of Completion, As-Builts, final checklists)
• Provide subject-matter expertise to sales and customers to secure contracts

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering (or related) or technical school degree with equivalent experience
• 6–10 years’ experience
• Professional Engineering (PE) license preferred (CA/OR/WA) with ability for reciprocity in neighboring jurisdictions
• Experience in civil site design: site layout, grading, drainage, water, sewer, earthwork, and sediment control
• Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D

Nice to have

• Stormwater/hydraulics & hydrology tools experience (HydroCAD and/or Hydraflow)
