About the role

Role Overview

Lockheed Martin is seeking a Front-End Software Engineer to support USSTRATCOM Nuclear Mission work. You’ll develop modern web-based mission systems in a DevSecOps environment, with a focus on planning and command & control (C2) capabilities for the Strategic Mission Planning and Execution System (SMPES).

Responsibilities

Design, develop, and implement modern web UI solutions for mission-critical systems
Collaborate with UX designers to create intuitive and impactful user interfaces
Build reusable UI components to streamline future development
Participate in Agile Scrum ceremonies (planning, stand-ups, retrospectives)
Ensure code quality and compliance with secure coding standards
Work with architecture, cyber, test, and product owner teams to align on goals
Contribute to CI/CD pipelines in a DevSecOps environment
Assist with integrating AI code generation tools where applicable
Support development/maintenance of AFNWC SMPES, MPAS, and NPES systems as needed

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related STEM field
4+ years of professional software development experience
Proficiency with React (or Angular) for web development
Experience working in Agile/DevSecOps teams
Ability to develop secure, maintainable, reusable UI components
Familiarity with VS Code, GitLab, Git, and JIRA
UI testing experience with Selenium or Cypress
Ability to work effectively with UX designers and backend developers
U.S. citizenship and eligibility for a government security clearance

Nice to Haves

Experience building UI for complex, mission-critical or security-related environments
Exposure to AI-assisted coding tools and DevSecOps integration workflows
