React Native Developer - Grocery Marketplace

Role overview

Senior Mobile Engineer (React Native) for a high-growth marketplace mobile platform. You’ll join a core product engineering team to build polished, scalable, high-performing iOS and Android experiences used by a rapidly expanding customer base.

What you’ll be working on

• Mobile product development: Deliver sophisticated mobile features end-to-end (planning → production deployment) for both iOS and Android.
• Build with TypeScript & React Native: Create maintainable code focused on usability, responsiveness, scalability, and reliability.
• Marketplace experiences: Support dynamic marketplace operations, real-time inventory visibility, and evolving customer workflows.
• Cross-functional collaboration: Partner with Product and Design to turn requirements into intuitive mobile interactions.

Architecture & engineering excellence

• Contribute to architectural decisions around:
  • State management, navigation, API integrations
  • Modular feature development and overall application structure
• Improve performance (startup speed, rendering, memory) and overall mobile stability.
• Reduce technical debt via refactoring and reusable components/scalable patterns.
• Support mobile security best practices, accessibility, observability tooling, and resilient error handling.

Reliability & operational quality

• Investigate and fix production issues: incidents, crashes, edge cases, and platform inconsistencies.
• Improve release quality through better automated testing, monitoring, and CI/CD and deployment workflows.
• Implement logging, crash reporting, and operational visibility.
• Participate in incident response, root cause analysis, and continuous improvement.

Technical leadership & collaboration

• Mentor junior and mid-level engineers (code reviews, design discussions, collaborative problem-solving).
• Communicate tradeoffs across delivery speed, engineering quality, customer impact, and long-term scalability.
• Help build a culture of ownership, collaboration, craftsmanship, and continuous improvement.

Requirements

• 8+ years professional software engineering experience.
• 3+ years hands-on React Native development in production environments.
• Strong expertise in TypeScript and modern React development patterns.
• Experience building and maintaining production-grade mobile apps for iOS and Android.
• Background in marketplace/retail/eCommerce/inventory-driven mobile platforms.
• Experience handling real-time operational data and rapidly changing user-facing information.
