Role overview

As a Rapid Researcher on Figma’s Research team, you’ll support the company’s mission of connecting product teams with customers throughout development. The role focuses on delivering actionable research recommendations that inform strategic decisions, with rapid, sprint-based studies across multiple product areas.

Responsibilities

Conduct research studies to gather user feedback and insights throughout the development process in quick sprints
Synthesize findings into actionable product recommendations for stakeholders
Present recommendations to cross-functional teams and senior leadership, communicating the story behind the data
Rotate across product areas and teams, building credibility and relationships quickly without long-term embedding
Collaborate with product managers, designers, and engineers to integrate user insights into the product lifecycle
Continuously evaluate product experiences to uncover strategic opportunities and user needs
Lead and mentor junior researchers on best practices and methodologies
Experiment with tools, templates, and workflows to make research faster and sharper
Integrate AI tools into the research workflow to improve speed, quality, or scale

Requirements

7+ years in research/design roles in fast-paced product orgs, UX/design agencies, or strategic consultancies
Proficient in mixed methods research, including:
- Qualitative (e.g., interviews)
- Quantitative (e.g., surveys, data analysis)
Strong communication and storytelling skills with a track record of executive buy-in and/or driving product changes
Ability to ramp up quickly and deliver measurable impact in 1–2 weeks

Nice to have

Experience in a major tech company with a strong evaluative research function
Ability to clarify ambiguous problems into clear goals
Experience with designing and prototyping, ideally within the Figma suite
Comfort being adaptable and scrappy in fast-paced environments

Location / work model

Full-time role available from US hubs or remote in the United States
