About the role
Role Overview
As a Quality Engineer, you will ensure the quality of software applications by partnering with active Scrum teams to perform QA/QE activities across the software delivery lifecycle. You will design and execute tests, validate requirements, and help improve quality practices and test automation.
Responsibilities
- Scrum Integration: Collaborate with Scrum teams to perform QA/QE work on assigned user stories.
- Test Engineering: Design, develop, reuse, and execute detailed test cases; build deep system/application knowledge for strong coverage across complex environments.
- Requirements Validation: Validate functional and non-functional requirements based on business value; support backlog grooming, sprint planning, requirement refinement, and acceptance criteria.
- Cross-Functional Alignment: Work with developers, product owners, and business partners to align on quality expectations and timelines.
- Automation Frameworks: Develop and contribute to automated testing frameworks/tools and modern quality practices.
- Production Verification: Verify live production implementations and ensure continuous system quality.
- Workflow Innovation: Use enterprise-approved AI tools to streamline internal testing workflows and automate repetitive tasks.
Requirements
- QA & SDLC Experience: Minimum 3+ years creating and executing detailed test cases with solid QA foundations across the SDLC.
- Web Testing: At least 2+ years testing modern web applications.
- Testing Tools/Libraries (3+ years): Experience with tools such as MSTest, xUnit, NUnit, FluentAssertions, Moq, NSubstitute, WinAppDriver, or Postman.
- Advanced Automation: Proven experience building automated test frameworks/suites beyond basic record-and-playback.
- Data & Tooling: Competency with SQL and relational database querying; practical experience with GitHub (or similar distributed source control).
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science/Information Systems or related field (or equivalent experience).
Compensation & Benefits
- Annual salary range: $72,800 - $130,000 (placement varies by market, education, experience, and certifications)
