Quality Assurance Engineer

Role Overview

Senior Quality Assurance Engineer to join an embedded QA role within an Agile delivery team using Scrum or SAFe. You will own quality outcomes for assigned features/components across the development lifecycle, supporting mission-critical public safety applications (including the HxGN OnCall application suite).

Responsibilities

• Act as an embedded QA partner within an Agile/SAFe delivery team, owning quality for specific features/components
• Collaborate with Product Owners and Developers to refine user stories, acceptance criteria, and test scenarios early
• Apply shift-left quality practices using TDD and BDD
• Design, execute, and maintain manual and automated tests (story/feature/regression levels)
• Expand automated test coverage; Playwright is highly advantageous
• Perform functional, integration, regression, and exploratory testing throughout the sprint lifecycle
• Identify, document, and triage defects with clear reproduction steps, severity, and impact
• Participate in Agile ceremonies (backlog refinement, sprint planning, stand-ups, reviews, retrospectives)
• Use logs/system behavior to support defect investigation and root-cause analysis
• Improve team QA standards, tooling, and testing best practices
• Use Azure DevOps for test management, defect tracking, and traceability
