Quality Assurance Engineer

Role overview

Snapsheet is hiring a Quality Assurance (QA) Engineer for a remote, full-time role. You will build test systems and processes to prevent issues proactively, work closely with software developers, QAs, and designers, and help maintain high quality as products evolve.

Responsibilities

• Review product specifications and feature requirements, and translate them into a testing approach
• Define and refine the team’s testing strategy
• Own test infrastructure and QA automation tools; research and implement quality assessment technologies
• Design, develop, and maintain automated test suites; collaborate with developers and product managers on what/how/when to automate
• Create, document, and maintain functional and regression test cases and other test artifacts
• Execute tests (planned, exploratory, and ad hoc) and track results
• Perform issue triage, including isolating, replicating, and reporting defects and verifying fixes
• Submit, track, and communicate defects; escalate quality risks when needed
• Provide QA reporting (test status and defect status)
• Conduct various testing, including:
  • Release candidate testing for new features/products
  • Enhancement testing
  • Regression testing
  • Non-functional testing (load/stress, performance/scalability, browser/network/resolution constraints)
  • Accessibility testing
• Stay current on new testing tools and strategies to raise the quality bar

Requirements

• B.S. or higher in a related field
• 3+ years working with test automation frameworks: Selenium, Cypress, or Playwright
• Proficient in one or more programming languages (Ruby and JavaScript preferred)
• Familiar with Jira, Confluence, Git/GitHub, and test management tools (Zephyr, TestRail)
• Understanding of SDLC
• Strong knowledge of QA methods and testing principles
• Experience testing web-based products and/or mobile applications

Nice to have

• Experience improving automated testing tooling and confidence in automated test suites
• Hands-on background with performance, scalability, and accessibility testing
