Quality Assurance Engineer (m/f/d)

Role Overview

Yalwa is seeking a Quality Assurance (QA) Engineer to ensure high-quality delivery across complex product features for web applications and mobile apps (iOS & Android).

Responsibilities

• End-to-End Testing: Design, execute, and maintain manual and automated test cases for web and native mobile apps.
• Test Automation: Create and optimize automation scripts using Playwright (JavaScript); maintain existing scripts and use AI tools to accelerate automation workflows.
• Full-Spectrum Validation: Run functional, smoke, sanity, integration, localization, and regression tests across key user flows (e.g., registration, ad posting, search/filtering, premium subscriptions).
• Shift-Left QA: Partner with developers, product managers, designers, and DevOps to identify issues early and support product quality.
• Defect Lifecycle Management: Investigate, document, and track bugs in Jira and Confluence, and coordinate fixes.
• Environment Verification & Release Support: Validate quality across environments before production and assist with release coordination.
• Cross-Department Collaboration: Work with Product, Marketing, Sales, and Customer Support during showcases and alignment meetings to protect release quality.

Requirements

• 2–5 years of relevant QA/testing experience (or equivalent practical experience).
• Strong knowledge of software QA methodologies and the STLC (Software Testing Life Cycle).
• Experience with mobile testing on iOS and Android.
• Ability to create and execute Playwright automation scripts using JavaScript (or similar).
• Familiarity with Git and GitHub workflows.
• Basic SQL knowledge for direct database queries.
• Strong analytical/problem-solving skills and effective cross-functional communication.
• Fluent English.

Nice-to-Haves

• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines.
• Experience with API and performance testing.
• Exposure to AI-driven QA tools (test generation/intelligent automation platforms).
