About the role
Quality Assurance Engineer
You will help ensure software quality by finding defects and regressions and by designing, implementing, and executing test cases and/or automated test scripts.
Responsibilities
- Review requirements, specifications, and technical design documents to provide timely feedback
- Create testing plans and test scenarios aligned to functional requirements and technical specifications
- Estimate, prioritize, plan, and coordinate testing activities with a cross-functional development team
- Design, develop, and execute test cases and/or automation scripts using provided tools
- Identify, record, document, and track bugs; maintain accurate bug backlogs
- Perform regular regression, exploratory, and system testing
- Verify fixes and support successful releases through planned test activities
- Improve processes, training, and tools by making recommendations to management
- Use AI-enabled tools and analytics where appropriate, following ethical standards (accuracy, data privacy, human-in-the-loop oversight)
Requirements
- 6+ years of professional experience
- Strong diagnostic skills to test software and measure product quality
- Technical background to create test scenarios from functional requirements and detailed specifications
Preferred / Nice-to-haves
- Experience with Microsoft SQL Server Management Studio and writing SQL queries
- QA testing experience for ERP-type applications/systems
- Knowledge of administrative software for higher education
- Experience with automated testing tools
- Proficiency with at least one programming or scripting language
Compensation & Benefits
- Pay range: $66,000–$79,000/year (base pay may vary by experience, skills, and location)
- Eligible for an annual bonus
