Quality Assurance Engineer II

Role Overview

The Quality Assurance (QA) Engineer II ensures the quality and reliability of digital products delivered to federal agencies and other clients. You’ll execute comprehensive testing (functional, regression, accessibility) and help integrate testing into automated pipelines within an agile delivery environment.

Responsibilities

• Execute functional, regression, and accessibility testing each sprint, validating stories against acceptance criteria.
• Write and maintain manual and automated test cases using tools such as Selenium, Cypress, or Playwright.
• Run accessibility scans with Axe and pa11y, and document results in Jira and Confluence aligned to WCAG 2.1 AA.
• Validate API behavior using tools such as Postman or Rest Assured.
• Collaborate with developers on test creation (boilerplate and exploratory) and identify edge cases early.
• Support test automation by contributing to CI/CD pipeline test instrumentation in GitLab.
• Participate in load and performance testing to assess system capacity and stability.
• Engage in SAFe ceremonies (planning, standups, retrospectives) to align testing with program goals.

Requirements

• 3+ years of QA engineering experience (or equivalent education/experience).
• Bachelor’s degree or additional experience in lieu of a degree.
• Proficiency with QA automation frameworks: Selenium, Cypress, or Playwright.
• Experience developing test plans and test cases for manual and automated testing.
• Familiarity with API testing tools: Postman or Rest Assured.
• Working knowledge of accessibility testing tools: Axe and pa11y.
• Experience integrating tests into CI/CD pipelines and using GitLab (or similar version control).
• Understanding of load and performance testing concepts and tools.
• Solid understanding of agile testing and sprint-based delivery.
• Must meet federal suitability requirements and pass a background investigation.
