About the role
Role overview
The Quality Assurance Engineer I / II is responsible for ensuring the quality and reliability of software products used in high-precision semiconductor equipment (e.g., hiRecipe, hi-Frame, and Result Viewer). You will design and execute both manual and automated tests, build traceability for coverage, and support certification and release readiness.
Responsibilities
- Verify and certify software products and ensure compliance with quality standards
- Create, write, and execute detailed manual (functional) test cases based on primary requirements (e.g., BRD/FSD/TSD)
- Build and maintain traceability matrices linking test cases to use cases
- Execute comprehensive testing: smoke, system, regression, negative, performance, load, and sanity tests (manual + automated)
- Develop and maintain automated testing frameworks using JUnit (unit, API, GUI, regression)
- Identify, analyze, and troubleshoot defects, including abnormal measurement values on CD-SEM software
- Validate software compatibility with new releases and testing tools
- Prepare training materials, technical documentation, and customer-facing presentations
- Coordinate with design, QA, and international teams to review documents and validate builds
- Manage QA environments (servers, tools) to support end-to-end testing
- Ensure required artifacts are produced and support process quality via artifact review and process audits
- Provide first-line technical support to customers and help resolve inquiries to maintain customer satisfaction
- Participate in continuous process improvement and defect prevention activities
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field
- 5+ years of hands-on software testing experience
- 5+ years manual (functional) testing of enterprise applications/platforms
- 5 years recent testing on Linux (RHEL/CentOS preferred)
- 5 years developing/executing automated integration tests using JUnit
- 3 years testing software written in Java/J2EE with familiarity in:
- Application servers (preferably JBoss)
- Message queues
- Multi-threading
- Databases
Nice to have
- Experience testing software written in C++
- Experience working in startup environments
Travel / work setup
- Hybrid: ~70% remote, up to 30% travel
- Possible international travel (e.g., trips to Japan) for quality review meetings
