Quality Assurance Engineer (Entry-Level)

Responsibilities

• Analyze product specifications and technical design documents to create test plans and test cases
• Estimate, prioritize, plan, and coordinate QA activities
• Execute manual and automated testing (functional, regression, smoke, and API testing)
• Track and report defects using Jira; verify fixes before release
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams (developers, product managers, QA) to provide feedback on usability and accessibility
• Participate in agile ceremonies (sprint planning, daily stand-ups, retrospectives) and continuously improve QA processes
• Document test results and maintain test artifacts with clear traceability
• Stay current on testing best practices and emerging tools

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science/Engineering (or equivalent practical experience)
• 0–2 years of QA/software testing experience
• Basic understanding of the software development lifecycle and QA/testing methodologies
• Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills
• Excellent written and verbal communication
• Ability to work independently and manage time effectively in a remote setting
• Familiarity with bug tracking tools like Jira (plus)

Nice-to-haves

• Familiarity with test management tools such as TestRail
• Knowledge of SQL, API testing, and automation tools/frameworks like Selenium or Cypress
