Quality Assurance Engineer

Role Overview

Hands-on Quality Assurance Engineer (individual contributor) owning quality across a payments and transaction processing platform. You’ll primarily run end-to-end manual transaction testing, while helping evolve the QA approach toward a more structured, AI-assisted workflow.

Responsibilities

• Own end-to-end manual testing for payments and transaction processing flows, including:
  • Funds movement
  • Payment initiation
  • Settlement
  • Reconciliation scenarios
• Use AI tools to accelerate work across:
  • Requirements analysis
  • Test case generation
  • Test documentation (keeping it current and organized)
• Perform API testing with Postman to validate payment service integrations, including:
  • Request/response structures
  • Error handling
  • Data integrity across environments
• Create and maintain test artifacts:
  • Test plans and test cases
  • Defect reports in TestRail and Jira
  • Keep Confluence documentation updated and accessible
• Collaborate with product, engineering, and operations to clarify requirements early and surface quality risks before production
• Identify gaps in test coverage and proactively recommend QA process improvements
• Help build a quality-first culture as the company scales

Requirements

• 3–5 years of QA experience, with a meaningful portion focused on payments/fintech/financial services
• Hands-on transaction testing experience (funds movement, payment processing, related financial workflows)
• Practical experience using AI tools (e.g., ChatGPT, Claude, or similar) for requirements analysis, test case generation, or documentation
• Proficiency with TestRail, Jira, Confluence, and Postman
• Strong written communication skills and ability to document clearly in a fast-moving environment
• Comfortable operating independently in a startup environment where processes are still being built

Nice to Have

• Startup/early-stage experience building QA processes while executing daily work
• Familiarity with ACH, card networks, or other payment rails
• Basic scripting/automation concepts (even if current work is mostly manual)
