About the role
Role Overview
The BaseCamp Software Quality (QA) Tester is responsible for managing and executing SQA/testing activities end-to-end, including planning, test documentation, tracking, reporting, and defect management. This fully remote role is based in the United States and works closely with development teams to ensure quality across web, API, cloud, and database environments.
Responsibilities
- Monitor SQA test performance, provide clarification/assistance, and ensure testing completion with results reported.
- Report findings and test incidences in a testing status report and Defect Log.
- Develop and execute test strategies, plans, and test cases based on requirements.
- Perform testing types including:
- Functional, regression, integration, system, UAT, smoke, and end-to-end
- Across web, API, cloud, and database environments
- Build and maintain automated test scripts/frameworks using Selenium WebDriver and Visual Studio tools.
- Conduct API/web-services testing using SOAPUI, Postman, and XML/JSON validation.
- Perform accessibility testing per Section 508 and WCAG 2.0 AA using JAWS.
- Execute backend testing in SQL Server.
- Perform cloud-focused QA within Azure environments.
- Participate in CI/CD workflows and version control using GitHub and related DevOps tools.
- Execute performance/load/stress tests using JMeter and LoadRunner.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams in an Agile/Scrum environment.
- Document results, manage defects, and ensure traceability using ALM, JIRA, RTC, and Confluence.
- Support UAT planning/execution/reporting, including incident and compliance documentation.
- Perform production validation and post-release quality checks.
- Ensure compliance with HIPAA, security, data governance, and accessibility requirements throughout testing.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree with 15 years (or commensurate experience)
- Selenium WebDriver and Visual Studio tools
- SOAPUI, Postman, and XML/JSON familiarity
- Familiarity with Agile methodologies and project management tools
- JAWS accessibility testing experience
- SQL Server
- Experience with Azure environments
- Experience with ALM, JIRA, RTC, Confluence
- Certifications in relevant technologies
- Ability to obtain and maintain suitability/Public Trust clearance
Preferred Qualifications
- Strong experience with Selenium WebDriver (additional emphasis)
- Analytical skills for identifying workflow inefficiencies and recommending improvements
- Excellent communication, stakeholder engagement, and documentation skills
